2020 will forever be remembered as the year the earth stood still. Due to the novel coronavirus, social gatherings have been banned, shops have been forced to close and travelling too has become a no-no which leaves little for you to do. Suffice is to say, this summer is going to be a bore. The only entertainment left for you is the TV at your home so you might as well get in your pajamas and make the most of it. Here is a list of much loved summer movies to get you nostalgic and remind of the good times and what could have been. So, without further ado, here goes.
If you haven’t already watched this one, you’re really missing out. Filled with romance, drama and dancing, this movie has it all. Set in the summer of 1963, we see Jennifer Grey’s 17-year-old Baby on a vacation with her family at an upscale resort. There she meets dancer Johnny Castle who’s trying to help his friend and dance partner, Penny. She has been left in the lurch, pregnant, by a waiter at the resort.
Baby takes it upon herself to help and borrows money from her father to help Penny get an abortion. Penny refuses the money as that would mean missing out on a dance performance and effectively the season’s salary. But, Baby convinces her by volunteering to dance with Johnny in her stead. What follows is a rollercoaster ride with her Dad finding out about her lie and barring her from meeting Johnny whom she has fallen in love with. The story is ahead of its time and handles topics like abortion and class difference well.

And, as soon as he leaves, they dump the body in the water promising to never discuss the events again. Soon after, they graduate and go their separate ways.
When Julie return from college in summer, she receives a letter saying “I know what you did last summer”. In a worry, she contacts the rest of the group and informs them of the development. They conclude that the letter was sent by Max who had been on the site of the accident. They confront him, but soon after a hooded man, wielding a hook gets to him and kills him. Who is this mysterious killer? Watch the movie and find out for yourself.
